The analogue addressable fire system for the Stadium is integrated to a 500 Speaker PA/VA system, protecting the public and Bowl areas, including concourses and concessions along with back-of-house areas. The system was designed fully in accordance with all applicable British Standards, including BS5839, Pt. 1, Pt. 8 and Pt. 9 as well as the Green Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds, and utilised over 20 kilometres of fire resistant cable !
At the time of the detailed design, the scheme won the Local Authority Building Control Wales Award for public / community buildings, and was entered into the UK awards.

Maintenance & Alarm Testing

Whenever the Fire and Associated Fire Safety Systems described above are installed on any premises, it of of course essential as 'life safety systems' that they work and function correctly at all times.

It should therefore come as no surprise that it is a legal requirement (under Article 17 of the Fire Safety Order) that such systems ...."are subject to a suitable system of maintenance and are maintained in an efficient state, in efficient working order and in good repair."

It is also a requirement of all applicable British Standards such as BS5839 Pt. 1: 2017 for fire alarm systems, and BS5266, Pt. 1: 2016 for emergency lighting systems, that systems are maintained annually and that weekly and monthly checks and tests are also in place. This is also the case for portable and fixed Fire Fighting equipment.

Falcon Fire Prevention currently provide weekly alarm testing services, as well as 'flash' testing of emergency lighting to a number of our clients. We also provide annual maintenance for fire alarm systems, as well as detailed compliance audits, for older existing systems, and again look after a number of prestigious clients.
