Chapel Bar & Restaurant

Grade II Listed former Methodist Chapel

Project Details

Chapel 1877 is a Grade II Listed Victorian Building originally built as a prominent Welsh Methodist Chapel in 1877.
Sympathetically and beautifully restored, the building is now home to a Bar, Restaurant and Nightclub, in the centre of Cardiff, spread over four floors including the Basement.

Employed directly by the Chapel Bar, Falcon Fire Prevention Ltd. provided the detailed Fire Risk Assessment for and Associated Fire Safety advice for the premises. Give the size of the premises, this was a relatively complex undertaking based on the different uses of the premises, and as with all other Fire Risk Assessments, occupancy factors, maximum occupancy, means of escape, travel distances, etc. were pivotal in this instance. This involved taking into consideration the nightclub in the Basement area, and the numbers of stairs and exit doors, which again were considerable for the size of the premises, as well as all other preventative and protective measures.
